- Master’s Degree in Hindi or English with the other language as an elective or compulsory subject,
OR - Master’s Degree in any subject with Hindi/English as a compulsory subject at degree level,
AND - Recognized Diploma/Certificate in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa,
OR - Two years’ experience of translation work in a Central/State Government office.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of an additional language listed in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution.
- Degree or Diploma in Translation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing the Official Language policy of the Government of India.
- Translate scientific and administrative documents.
- Prepare language-related reports and returns.
🔹 Junior Stenographer (JST)
Essential Qualifications:
- 10+2 (XII) or equivalent from a recognized board.
- Proficiency in stenography as per DoPT norms.
Desirable:
- Practical knowledge of computers, especially MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide stenographic and secretarial assistance.

For Junior Hindi Translator (JHT):

- Quantitative Aptitude – 25 questions (75 marks)

- Paper-II (Descriptive Type):

- Proficiency Test in Stenography:
- English (80 w.p.m.) – 50 min transcription
- Hindi (80 w.p.m.) – 65 min transcription

- General Intelligence & Reasoning – 50 marks
- General Awareness – 50 marks
- English Language & Comprehension – 100 marks
- Duration: 2 hours
- Negative Marking: 0.25 mark per wrong answer
Merit list will be prepared based on written exam scores only.
